Common questions

Where did my edit go?

Nothing is ever flattened. Open the edit stack from the editor toolbar to see every adjustment you have made, in order. From there you can select one to change it, move it, or delete it without affecting the others.

Did editing change my original photo?

No. Importing copies the photo into the app, and the copy in your photo library is left untouched. Your original is only affected if you deliberately overwrite it on export.

The app cannot see my photos.

Photo access is controlled by iOS. Open Settings, find SoEdit, and allow access to your photos. Until then the app falls back to a built-in sample image so you can still try every tool.

Can I reuse a set of adjustments on other photos?

Yes. Save the global adjustments from your edit stack as a named Recipe, then apply that Recipe to any other photo. For a one-off, use Copy Edits and paste onto the next image.

How do I compare against the original?

Press and hold the canvas to flash the unedited photo. For a closer look, turn on split compare and drag the divider across the frame.

Does it work offline?

Always. Every adjustment is computed on your device and the app makes no network requests at all.

Reporting a problem

The more of this you can tell us, the faster it gets fixed. None of it is collected automatically, so we genuinely rely on what you send:

• Your device model and iOS version, from Settings then General then About
• The SoEdit version number
• Which tool you were using, and what you expected to happen instead
• A screenshot or screen recording, if the problem is something you can see

Requirements

SoEdit runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 18 or later. There is no account to create and no subscription to manage.

Privacy

The app collects nothing and sends nothing anywhere. If you email us, we see only what you choose to write. Full details are in the privacy policy.
